The city amended some roofing provisions:

Section R902.1 is amended by adding Exception 3 to provide as follows:

R902.1 Roofing covering materials. Roofs shall be covered with materials as set forth in Sections R904 and R905. Class A, B, or C roofing shall be installed in areas designated by law as requiring their use or when the edge of the roof is less than 3 feet from a lot line. …

Duncanville, Texas, adopted the 2015 International Building Code (IBC) with amendments. Duncanville, TX, Muni. Code § 5-25 (adoption) and § 5-27 (amendments). 

The city amended some roofing provisions:

Table 1505.1 is amended by amending footnote b and deleting footnote c to read as follows: "…..

b. Non-classified roof coverings shall be permitted on buildings of U occupancies having not more than 120 sq. ft. of protected roof area. When exceeding 120 sq. ft of protected roof area, buildings of U occupancies may use non-rated non-combustible roof coverings."

Section 1505.7 is deleted in its entirety.

Section 1510.1 is amended to read as follows:

"1510.1 General. Materials and methods of applications used for recovering or replacing an existing roof covering shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 15. All individual replacement shingles or shakes shall be in compliance with the rating required by Table 1505.1…
